Social Venture Fund
NOTICE: THE SPRING 2012 DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED UNTIL FEBRUARY 10TH
Helping Hampshire Students Effect Social Change
Hampshire College students working on projects that offer potential for positive social impact now have an extended network of support.
Alumni, families, and other interested individuals who would like to share their expertise and energy, commitment and contributions, can get involved in the Hampshire College Social Venture Fund and Advisory Network (SVFAN).
The SVFAN is open to all Hampshire College students. Any student working on a project that provides social benefits or an innovative response to social needs may submit an application for funding. Applications are accepted once each semester, and a review committee selects recipients for modest awards.
The fund offers intellectual as well as financial capital, including guidance, contacts, mentoring, and the kind of business expertise that can be invaluable to a fledgling entrepreneur. Advisory Network members are matched with students requesting assistance with professionals or mentors appropriate to their individual projects.
