Student Groups
Many student groups use the Lemelson shop and facilities – click on the name to be directed to their individual websites:
The Blacksmith Guild
The Blacksmiths’ Guild is a collective of Hampshire students with an interest in forging. The forges are run by students who are on hand to help teach the basics of blacksmithing and to give tips on making the perfect piece.
The Glass Collective
We are a group of students interested in the art and craft of glassblowing. We do the best we can to share this interest by training students to do lampworking, a method of blowing glass. We maintain, improve and put to full use the limited glassblowing facilities in the Lemelson Center.
Zap! Electronics Group
The Metalheads Machining Group
The goal of the Metalheads Machining Coalition is to promote the use of both manual and CNC machining equipment. Funding will be used to maintain and upgrade the machines in the Lemelson Center. Introductory tutorials will be offered, with the oversight of the shop managers, for students interested in machining and fabrication.
Design Conspiracy
Thursday nights 6pm, come talk about design issues, problems, and questions you have and act as a thinktank for other queries! Lemelson Center.
Jewelry Collective
Our goal for this collective is to learn more about jewelry making in all forms and to create beautiful and functional works of art. We hope to get more people excited about creating their own jewelry and exploring their own artistic abilities.
